Advanced networking – how it works

Finding the right expertise or person is becoming more difficult.

Reasons are the increasing scale of networks (globalization), new people (and their expertise) are added continuously to networks and multi-disciplinary research requires knowledge of multiple networks.

That is why Advanced Networking is developed and that is why Advanced Networking is based on knowledge profiles.

The concept of knowledge profiles is not new but most of the time they were not very accurate and participating and maintenance required a lot of work. These problems have been solved.

In Advanced Networking the software builds profiles by selecting the essential concepts in a document. The only thing you have to do is to provide a few of your documents that reflect your expertise. You simply add them to your profile and from that moment on everyone in the network can find you on the basis of your new profile.

Finding expertise is based on matching these personal profiles with the profile of your ‘question’.

When you enter your ‘question’, for example, part of an (working) paper,

the software translates this text into a profile and matches it to the personal profiles in the database. The result is a list of experts with the best matching person on top. For every expert contact details are shown and (if available) links to public documents.

Making the knowledge profiles is easy: just enter the documents or articles which represent your knowledge best and provide your contact details using the form and instruction on this website.

Everybody prepared to make the (minimal) effort to contribute to this advanced network, is cordially invited to participate.
